I know, I know. I’ve been gone for ages. It’s now 2016 and this blog has been active for around three years. That’s great and all, but three years is a long time – especially when your life gets completely turned on its head in just a couple of months and you suddenly become a different person, with a different life.
I’ve changed, so I’ve decided it’s time this blog changed with me.
Throughout the end of January and the whole of February I will be dedicating the majority of my post-semester-final-essay time to creating content.
What do you mean ‘creating content’? Wasn’t this supposed to be just your analog photography website?
Yes, it was. And it always has been. But lately I’ve been getting very insightful comments from the people most dear to me that they feel that this place has great potential and I’m limiting it a lot. I have a behance now for my professional work and this will always be my analog photography blog, but it kind of took charge and turned itself into a portfolio. I only post when I have new film, I only post the pictures without talking about the trips, etc. As much as I love the images, as much as I love the medium, as much as I love what I do, I also love so many other things.
So from now on, Golden Wolves is changing. It will (hopefully) have its own YouTube channel. I will do my best to feature everything that I love – travel, lifestyle, promoting small businesses and go-getting individuals, beauty and makeup, and photography, of course.
Oh, you’re just jumping on the YouTube beauty guru and blogger bandwagon!
Actually, I’m not! Those who know me know that all of my money is spent on two things: makeup and 35mm film. Not just recently, but since I was around 17. That’s another story for another time, but I’ve been absolutely obsessed with makeup for six years now! I have more items of makeup than Farrah Fawcett has strands of hair, and I’m not exaggerating. I have a diploma as a Professional MakeUp Artist and another one for Beauty Consultancy. I have done the makeup for all of the digital photoshoots on my online portfolio, and I enjoy every minute of doing my face every day. My friends ask me for advice on skincare and cosmetics, even my boyfriend and my dad ask me what kind of products they should get for their hair and skin! I’ve become a ‘beauty guru’ in my own circle – including friends from other countries, not just the people around me – and everyone has been advising me to take my expertise online.
What about us dudes?
Don’t worry, I will still be posting all of my analog photography work! Part of why I’ve decided to make this dramatic decision was because I felt limited in how I expressed my creativity, and I felt my own website limited me. But I will still post about travelling, I will still upload hundreds of photographs and I will also talk about men’s grooming, taking my father and my boyfriend’s experiences to you (Gabriele recently got really into skincare… So I will bother him for reviews).
Oh and I won’t be blogging about clothing, or posting a lot of pictures of myself. No style blogger here! I’m still uncomfortable about my body and I dress quite plainly; and I feel like I have a lot more to show you than just a sharp set of eyebrows!
I’m looking forward to this new chapter and, hopefully, a better me.
Happy New Year x
