I have to admit I feel extremely embarrassed yet unusually excited to post this. Anyone who knows me knows that I am always, without fail, the one behind the camera. I’ve never had my picture taken properly – that means, not including cellphones or pictures with people I love or taken on holiday. I’ve never been the one that has to stand there and at least try to look pretty. So when Caterina of Kateidoscope (who […]

So when Cate asked me to take some pictures of her wearing a pair of very 1980s-themed leggings, I couldn’t help but ask her for something in return. I’ve never done a more “out there” makeup look on myself or any of my friends, or anywhere outside of makeup school, to be honest. And I have never used neon or bright colours for eyeshadow on myself or anyone else, ever. So this was the perfect excuse. […]

It’s that time of the year again when Caterina from Kateidoscope.com asks me to take pictures of her for her blog, and I decide to do her makeup to match her clothing. I’m quite shocked at how well this look turned out considering it was completely unplanned – I just knew I wanted to use yellow. Everything else was decided as I went along with the brush. Makeup look details, explanatory chart and products list coming […]

One Day of English Summer

If there’s one thing I’ve learned during my time in the UK is that if the sun peeks out of the clouds for one day, everyone will run out in shorts and flip-flops and sit at the beach having beer or sunbathe in parks. I decided to do something different take my 5D Mark III out for a city-spin. It’s mostly my work, filming and studio camera, so I’ve been using a half-decent Lumix for snapshots, but […]

I’m back after a tremendously long absence with the first of a series of analog photography posts! I’m finally getting excited again about creating images and capturing scenes. For the first time ever in my many years of having fun with 35mm cameras I am finally starting to take it more seriously, and I’m thinking more about capturing certain angles, moods and sentiments more than taking a ‘nice snapshot’. So I think this is the […]

Calling All Beauties

While I’ve been away I’ve been silently mulling over an idea. I see so many collaboration requests on work forums and blogger Facebook groups, but it’s usually commercially inclined or based on a “like for like, follow for follow” basis. I want my follower count to go up organically, not because I liked someone’s holistic yoga page or gave their homemade soaps a shout-out on an Instagram picture! One of my goals for 2016 […]

I’m trying to work on as many portfolio shoots as possible so I have a larger body of work to hold on to when I finish my MA. Sadly, I don’t always have time to edit pictures right away and it’ll probably take me quite a long time to get to all of these. So how to resist the urge of showing them around? Well, don’t. Edit them on your phone! I just downloaded my favourite […]

Digital Diares – Paris Moments & Details

Travelling isn’t just about getting on airplanes, buying souvenirs and taking pictures (ironically). Travelling is about breathing new air, experiencing great moments, and bringing back with you not keychains but memories. These pictures are artefacts of history, bookmarks of a thrilling page in your life, not postcards to show others the local monuments and landscapes. They’re images to remind you of things you smelled, smiles you received, laughter that escaped you, delicious things you ate, moments […]

LONDON – Christmas Lights

Photography / Travels

Back in early December, before going home for the holidays, I managed to hop to London for a day trip. Since Caterina had to go there for a project of hers, she asked me if I wanted to tag along so we could raid the Charlotte Tilbury counter at Selfridge's together and I promptly said 'hell yes!'. While she did her thing, however, I had some time to walk around and snap a couple of pictures of the Christmas lights before it got too dark for my 160ISO film.
